onta pottery
1, Before Start Use
We recommend boiling the pottery to make it more durable. Fill a pot with tap water, tip 1 Tbs of potato starch and place the pottery in it. To prevent the pottery to be damaged, we recommend place a tea towel or soft cloth under the pottery. Make sure your pottery is under the water. Bring to the boil, reduce to a gentle simmer for 20 minutes. Leave it until water cools down. Wash off the starch with tap water, wipe dry and then ready to go!
2, Dishwasher, Microwave and Oven
Onta pottery is safe to use in dishwasher but not microwave and oven.
3, Cracks in Glazing
As you use Onta pottery for years, you will see some small cracks in glazing. Don’t panic! It is normal to have some cracks. It is just like we get wrinkles as get older and cracks make the pottery more unique and special.
bamboo cutlery
1, Dishwasher
We do not recommend washing our bamboo cutlery in a dishwasher. As bamboo is still breathing, it will absorb water when allowed to sit in water, either cold or hot.
2, Stain
Our bamboo cutlery will change colour used with foods with strong colour such as curry rice and beetroot. The stain will eventually fade, however it would be better not to dip them in such food or drinks.
Organic cotton which is used in our items is consciously sourced from organic cotton farms which are regulated in accordance to ethical and sustainable standards. Also Yamaya (the maker) and TAKEFUJI do not regard our socks as consumables. We have created this care instructions on how to best wash and treat your socks and gloves because we would like you to use them for years to come.
There are two important washing tips - treat your cotton items with the same way as you treat you woollen garments and wash them inside out.
1, Lightly tap the surface of your socks to dust off.
2, Turn your socks inside out.
3, Ideally hand wash with a mild detergent. You can machine wash on lower heat, around 30 degrees or cooler on a delicate cycle. And putting your socks in a laundry net is recommended. This reduces potential shrinkage and damage to the fibres.
4, Line dry with the opening up in shade.
We would recommend using an environmentally friendly organic washing soap to wash them.
** Do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean and iron.
**Coloured cotton will have slight colour change from exposure to the sun light. Brown colour will get darker and green colour will change to brown or grey due to the character of natural coloured cotton.
