Sakamoto Kohji is the sixth-generation owner of the pottery. He took over the family business at the age of 39. He is one of the few rare potters in Japan who is able to make large potteries (Ohmono, 大物) such as 36 litre pots. What motivates him to continue with the production of Ohmono is the mission to preserve the art and to hand over the skills and technique to the next generation.

The seventh generation. He won the first place of the ceramic and pottery category at the Japan Folk Art Association competition in 2015 and is the youngest potter in Onta Pottery village.
