Sakamoto masami pottery
history
The founder of the pottery studio was separated from the head family and started his own pottery at the end of the 19th century. When Bernard Leach, “Father of British studio pottery” visited Onta, he stayed at this studio, working alongside the fifth-generation owner to learn the art of Japanese pottery. Now Masami, the sixth-generation owner, and Kenichiro, the seventh, are working together.
